What it is

Streptococcus thermophilus (Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus) is a essential food-grade lactic acid bacterium widely used in fermented dairy culture and human probiotic supplements. Cultured via specialized fermentation and preserved through lyophilisation, S. thermophilus lacks virulence factors and expresses high lactase (beta-galactosidase) activity.
